Pulse up for top award

Great Scot Awards 2010

Pulse is up for the top Scottish community volunteers award. Representatives from the station will be attending the Sunday Mail ”Great Scot” Awards ceremony.

On Saturday 11th September at the Glasgow Hilton, representatives from all over Scotland will meet to celebrate the achievements of volunteers throughout the country.

Pulse has been named a ‘Community Champion’ as part of the Sunday Mail’s annual Great Scot Awards, sponsored by supermarket Morrisons. The winner will be announced at a glittering ceremony on Saturday evening and we are all keeping our fingers crossed that the station can pick up the top award.

Station spokesman Paul Mulholland said: “We are just delighted to have been nominated and to get through to the final four. It’s amazing that we got the nomination almost exactly a year after going on the air.”

    Hi,
I do enjoy listening to Pulse 98.4 FM. It is far much better
than the other community radio station I used to listen to.
I am involved with Victoria Infirmary Radio at the Victoria Infirmary
Hospital, and also help out at Southern Sound hospital radio on a
    Sunday.
I have done FM broadcasting with another community radio station in Glasgow, and I think that I would like to get involved with Pulse. I am an active member of Clydeside Model Railway Club, and Titwood Bowling Club too.
Do keep the great work up and the great entertainment coming our way. All the best for the future.
I stay in Crossmyloof, Shawlands, and get a good signal at my flat.

    Yours,
    Alan Hall.
